Our sweet D is three years old. Dalia is candy obsessed and asks for chocolate chips for breakfast, although she doesn’t usually get them. She loves her snacksies and popcorn, with the movies a favorite spot to enjoy a show and her favorite munchies. D likes to play with her brother’s Transformers, and thanks to his thoughtfulness now has several of her own. She builds the “tallest tower in the world” with magnatiles and scooters to the park faster than her mom can walk. At school Dalia loves playing with her Rainbow Fish friends, doing puzzles and running on the playground. She loves wearing tutus over most outfits, and sometimes shorts over her pants. For months after a fair visit this summer she reminded us “we forgot to get popcorn at the fair” and pizza and french fries is her favorite meal. Happy Birthday to our spunky little girl.
Happy fifth birthday to our sweet kind boy. Jack asks to read a kids encyclopedia about space, or rocks and minerals, every night. He still loves the original transformers and is just discovering “big kid” legos. Jack looks out for his little sister, but has a hard time when she doesn’t follow the rules of a game. Our sweet Jack, who flips puzzles at school upside down for a challenge and is sounding out words in his books at bed time. He draws intricate space maps, and takes daily flights into orbit with his dad and sister. With a diet of sushi, pickle pizza, salmon, and just about everything in sight, this kid can eat his parents under the table. Jack is growing up, looking ahead to kindergarten next year and ready to start big kid school.
Happy 18 month birthday to Dalia. Our little girl has blossomed in the past month. She now has lots to say, asking mama or daddy for a cheese stick or hot dog by name. She loves to run around before her bath with her brother, rough housing and giggling. Dalia is 31 1/2 inches tall (45%) and 18 pounds, 12 ounces (7%). Dalia’s favortie toy is a yellow carton of multi colored eggs. She is starting to show her feminine side, carrying around a toy purse, putting on bracelets, blowing kisses and dancing to music. And she is a spitfire, that’s for sure. Dalia will look us in the eye, say “don’t throw” and then toss her dinner to the dog. While we are working on that, there isn’t anything we would change about our sweet Dalia Anne. She is all laughter and energy, all the time.
Happy first birthday sweet Dalia! We can’t believe our little firecracker is no longer a baby. Dalia crawled for the first time six days before her birthday. By the end of the week she was tearing through the whole house. She can say Dada, Mama, dogga (dog), nana (banana), all done, Dalia and Jack Jack. She points her finger and whatever she wants and has perfected the food drop. When she is done eating she delights in dropping her food off the high chair, much to Ollie’s delight.
Dalia’s favorite toy is an activity table with music and lights, she can stand there and play all day. She loves to dump wooden blocks out of a bucket and knock down towers the boys build for her. Maracas and musical toys are also a big hit.
She adores her older brother. When she gets out of the tub, she points emphatically and cries “Jack Jack! Jack Jack!” until I take her back in to say goodnight to Jack.
Dalia is a finicky eater. For a while she would eat fruit and only fruit. She loves all berries, bananas, kiwi, mandarin oranges, etc. This past week she has started to enjoy grilled cheese and chicken nuggets, so we are making progress. She won’t eat veggies, and if you give her a spoonful of pureed peas, look out! Dalia is not shy and will let you know what she likes and what she doesn’t.
Our girl is not a snuggler, she is independent, confident and fearless. But she definitely likes company while she plays. She loves to explore the house, now that she is crawling.
Happy birthday sweetie, we love you so much!
Our big boy is three years old! Jack loves to play catch, ride his bike, play hockey in the basement or baseball in the backyard. He is a natural athlete and has incredible aim. He just entered the stage of eternal “Why?” He can hold his own in any conversation and has a fantastic memory. He always keeps us laughing. The other night I told jack to try a puzzle on his own, after he did it I told him I was so proud of him for trying. he looks at me and in all seriousness says “mommy, I am so proud of you for sitting on the chair, and waiting, you did a great job”
Jack loves school and we love how happy he is there. Everyday after class he runs around with his buddies, they tackle each other, make up games and climb on anything they can find.
Our sweet boy loves to snuggle up with Daddy to watch a movie and will do art projects with his Mommy. He is still a fantastic sleeper and eats anything in sight. His favorite foods are cucumbers, fruit and mac and cheese. Cake is more than a favorite food, it is an obsession. At his three year appointment Jack measured in at 31 pounds (45th percentile) and he stands 37 3/4 inches tall (55th percentile).
Most of all, Jack is a sweetheart. He shows genuine concern for others. The other night, Jack gathered up a few things and says: “Mommy, tonight while I’m sleeping can you find boys and girls and give this to them, because I have too many toys.” We are so proud of our little man.
Jack is the best big brother a girl could hope for. He makes sure Dalia has her zebra to cuddle, brings her toys when she is upset and washes her hair in the tub.
Happy birthday Jackal, we love you so much!
I can’t believe Dalia is one month away from her first birthday! Our little girl can say Dada, Mama, (ba)nana and doggie. She just started signing for “more” when she is hungry. This girl likes her food, her favorites are bananas, strawberries, cheerios and anything she can hold and feed herself. When we approach her high chair with food she clenches her fists and trembles in excitement. She can scoot backward and can now get on all fours, ready to crawl. She loves standing at her activity table and banging blocks together. Anytime we sing, she shakes her arms, bops her head and dances to the music. Happy eleven month birthday Dalia Anne!
Dalia is ten months old. This photo was taken on her 10 month birthday, but fall is busy season for mama so personal photos have been taking a back seat to clients’ images.
Ms. Dalia now has three teeth and a fourth peeking through. She has been teething on and off all month, which has made for some cranky days, including picture day. But most of the time she is happy as can be. She says Dada when she sees Daddy and daga (doggie) when she sees Ollie. Dalia adores her brother and is working on his name as well. Her favorite activity is dancing to music and eating cheerios. She is happiest outside on an adventure and loved the hayride to the pumpkin patch. Her hair is so long that she wears a barrette everyday, and doesn’t mind a bit. Once she starts crawling we are all in trouble!
Our sweet little lady is nine months old! Dalia weighed in at 16 pounds 1 ounce (25%) and measured 27 3/4 inches tall (60%). She runs around her activity table at break neck speeds and squeals with delight. Dalia finally got the hang of baby food and eats just about anything. She now has her two bottom teeth and is working on a third. Cheerios are her favorite, along with anything her parents or brother are eating!
Dalia loves to sit and play with her toys can even roll a ball back and forth to play catch. She rubs her eyes when she is tired and nuzzles into her parents before bed. She is simply adorable and we love watching her personality burst through.
Happy eight months Dalia-do! This month Dalia has started to enjoy solids, her favorites are sweet potatoes and bananas. She can pick up puffs from her high chair table and most of them even make their way to her mouth. Her favorite toy is a green rubber teether that she chomps on all day. No teeth yet, but Dalia can’t wait to get her hands on what her parents are eating.
Our sweet lady lights up when anyone throws a smile her way, and is quite the flirt. She travels wonderfully and likes to people watch. Last week she mastered sitting on her own. We aren’t in any hurry for Dalia to crawl, and neither is she, which suits Ollie just fine. Because once she is on the move, Ollie will be her first target!
